  26. If you're running an Amiga 4000 then you really should keep the cover 
  27. on...this computer will almost certainly overheat/burn up if you run it 
  28. without the cover on.

  30. If your hard-drive problem is heat related, then you may want to pick up 
  31. a small fan from Radio Shack and put it inside the computer...if you 
  32. don't have room inside, then take one of the slot back-plates off and put 
  33. the fan near the opening so that it sucks air OUT of the computer.  You 
  34. should try to put the fan as close to the over-heating hard drive as 
  35. possible, but this is not mandatory.

  37. I recently had problems with a new hard drive getting very hot inside of 
  38. my A2000 and I had no way of installing a fan inside, so I went to Radio 
  39. Shark  =)  and picked up a small AC powered fan...I removed a back-plate 
  40. from one of my few empty slots and placed the fan as close to this 
  41. opening as possible....it sucked enough air out of the computer to keep 
  42. the hard drive nice and cool.

  44. Tape backup options for the Amiga are rather limited, but I would 
  45. definitely recommend getting on...I have a Caliper Touchdown 100 which 
  46. backs up 250 megs worth of data on a DC-6250 type data cartridge...it 
  47. does a good job but it seems as slow as a ONE-legged dog when I'm backing 
  48. up the 5 gigabytes worth of storage I have between my 3 Amigas.  It's a 
  49. standard SCSI device which will work with any SCSI controller...I paid  
  50. about $800 for this unit back in 1992 or 1993.
